visit room and board at soco

My absolute favorite furniture store is Room & Board’s Costa Mesa showroom at SOCO & The OC Mix. They offer an amazing selection of modern and classic handcrafted American-made furniture and accessories.

To kick off the summer season I want to share a few of my favorite Room & Board pieces for both outdoor and indoor living.

The photo above features the Palm Sofa with Chaise, Slim Outdoor Coffee Table, Boyd Ottoman and Hue Outdoor Pillows.

Best of all, zippered Sunbrella cushion covers on this outdoor sectional can be removed for machine washing, along with the frame slipcover, which is cleverly attached underneath the sofa for a seamless, tailored look.

Three shelves on the Slim Outdoor Bar Cart

can hold all your libations and accessories for backyard entertaining.

This is one of the dreamiest backyards I’ve seen. It’s giving me that Hamptons vibe, but would fit in anywhere!

Isn’t this bedroom seating area darling? Blogger Claire Thomas used the Boden chairs, Murphy ottoman and Kara tray as a comfy seating are in her Big Bear, California vacation cabin. It’s such a cozy look for a little mountain chalet.

Here are a couple more pics of Claire’s A-frame cabin.

And here's the Slim Outdoor Bar Cart again,

this time used indoors.

Look at the craftsmanship of the Soren chairs beautifully made out of walnut by craftsmen in Vermont. The inspiration for the chairs comes from a 1953 design.

The Nyla table shown here is one of the few pieces hand-made in Guatamala by from local and sustainably sourced South American wood.

The Loft Wall Mirror with Shelf is perfect at the front entry or foyer. It offers the perfect spot to set down keys and sunglasses. It comes in several different finishes and can even be displayed horizontally!

Kitchen lighting should always make a statement in my book. This kitchen features several lovely pendants and wall lights that work perfectly together.

The Kayseri wool rug is my favorite choice from the rug department.

Set against the vintage brick of this loft, the Portica Bathroom Vanity offers the perfect contrast and makes this space so much more interesting.

My choice for next to the bed is the sturdy and beautiful Berkeley Nightstand, especially in this shell stain.

This lovely vignette features the Chloe chair in Vance emerald velvet and the streamlined Berkeley dresser.

Isn’t this Humboldt light cool?

What I really love about visiting Room & Board is their pillow selection. When we bought our Metro Sectional last year for our family room, it was fun exploring all the fun pillows to coordinate with it.

Also good to know, Room & Board offers pet-friendly fabrics.

In fact they have specific dog-friendly, cat-friendly and even family-friendly fabric options. Perfect for us as a family with three dogs, two cats and lots of "grown-up" and not so grown-up kids!

Here’s a peek at the Costa Mesa store, located at the SOCO design center, right off the 405 freeway and not too far from South Coast Plaza.

And while, you're at SOCO & the OC Mix, stop by Portola Coffee for a cup of their famous coffee or try some amazing south of the border specialties at Taco Maria, created by James Beard Award's semi-finalist chef, Carlos Salgado.

Room & Board has been using sustainable sourced wood from the U.S., reclaimed wood that comes from old barns, recycled natural steel, and recycled packaging among many other sustainable resources.

They also recently introduced a new sustainable white oak wood option that offers a natural look. The white oak is sustainably harvested in the Midwest, helping it tie into the brand’s mission of creating beautiful and modern collection pieces while lessening the impact on our planet.

Happy Planet = Happy Life!
