5 exclusive handmade ornaments for you

Hi friends! Today I have a really special post for you. For the first time ever, I will be offering several of my one-of-a-kind holiday ornaments and garlands for purchase for your own private collection!

Since 2018 I’ve been a contributor to Country Sampler Farmhouse Style, and it’s been so much fun working on DIY projects, recipes, home décor ideas, tablescapes and garden projects.

Many of you have asked about these fun Christmas decorations, and now I’ve put together 5 of the latest magazine projects that are now available on eBay for purchase.

The first one is this “Let It Snow” Garland I created out of vintage tart tins, scrabble letters, and toy blocks.

Did you spot the “Let It Snow” Garland when it appeared in the 2021 Christmas issue of Country Sampler Farmhouse Style magazine?

Here it is displayed on a vintage mirror in my dining room, but I think it would also be pretty in a window or on a small mantel. It adds the perfect festive touch to any room!

Another garland I created was this take on an old-fashioned paper chain. I used three different burlap ribbons to put this together and it adds a soft neutral element to any farmhouse style home.

This is how I photographed it and how it appeared in the same issue as the “Let It Snow” garland.

I simply draped it along my family room mantel, and then added complimentary evergreen and eucalyptus branches to the top of the mantel.

The 2021 Winter issue of Country Sampler Farmhouse Style magazine included two really fun and whimsical ornament projects.

This first ornament project is my favorite, and I spent a lot of time on creating these.

They are little tart tins of different shapes, filled with a little snowy scene each that included a tiny vintage deer, small bottle brush tree and a little bit of snow.

With the addition of a background made with French book pages, I think these ornaments are one for the ages... Classic old-fashioned Christmas ornaments that will really stand out on any Christmas tree.

You can spot them above, on page 94 of this issue?

These adorable stocking shaped ornaments were inspired by this pretty musical themed paper I found.

They are stitched up with red thread, trimmed with gingham ribbon, vintage buttons and a touch of glitter.

So fun for any tree!

I’m also including a brand-new garland project that is in the current Winter 2022 issue of Country Sampler Farmhouse Style magazine.

This is a hand-made 3-D star garland made from vintage book pages. Dozens and dozens of star shapes were cut out and then sewn together to create this spectacular garland.

This one measures 100” long, so it would look great draped along a mantel, a lovely window or over your dining room table.

Remember, these are all one-of-a-kind pieces that were made to inspired hundreds of Farmhouse Style readers!

pretty fall hydrangeas

Over the weekend, I was photographing lots and lots of flowers for a project I’m working on, and in the midst of all the store-bought flowers, I decided to go out to the garden and cut some of my own hydrangeas for the table in the breakfast room.

I couldn’t help admiring them from the window, and they were just calling out to me!

My friend and neighbor Nancy, who’s a flower guru, helped me out on a few different arrangements, so it was really fun photographing those, as well.

In fact, the cute little white anemones you see peeking out of the hydrangeas came from Nancy’s garden

I love brown transferware for fall, so I pulled out a large sugar bowl to use as a vase for the hydrangeas. It’s always a nice touch to elevate the flowers in some way, to make them stand out. You can use a few books or a small wood cutting board.

This neutral cream-colored burlap table runner is one of my favorites and adds the right amount of autumn texture.

So today I’m starting on four fabulous new recipes that I’m making, styling and photographing. Food can be pretty tricky to take pictures of, but I’ll do my best. There’s always so much to learn.

I’ll be making two salads and two pasta dishes... of course, tasting the recipes is the best part!

What are you up to this week? I’d love to hear...

fun Easter diy projects

Easter is just around the corner, so today I'm sharing a peek at three projects that I created for the current Spring issue of Country Sampler Farmhouse Style

The first one is an easy do it yourself burlap table runner that I stenciled for Easter. The beauty of this project is you can design it to any length you’d like, whether it be for a small table or a very long table.

This next Easter DIY is one of my favorites! I don't do a lot of crafting projects these days, but this burlap garland was really of fun to make! Burlap is one of those materials that works in so many different applications because it's neutral, and it has such amazing texture.

And who can resist the cute cottontail backside of an Easter bunny?

This garland is perfect for dressing up any mantel. It’s simple and understated but looking at it, I just can’t help giggling to myself.

Who doesn't love to wake up to fresh scones in the morning? I’m new to this whole Rhubarb thing, but Rhubarb has such amazing tart flavor... and it goes so well with strawberries, so I put together the ultimate taste combo here with this recipe.

I’ve been making quite a number of recipes for Country Sampler Farmhouse Style over the past two years. In fact, I just finished working on three really cozy drinks for the Christmas issue!

These Strawberry Rhubarb Scones turned out so flaky, tart and sweet that you can’t help wanting more! I can't divulge the recipe just yet, but of course you can find it in the Spring issue of Country Sampler Farmhouse Style
