gingham and ruffles for Easter

Who else loves a little gingham? I’m feeling so inspired today with the sights and sounds of spring all around me, and this new gingham tablecloth from Solino Home inspires all kinds of flowers and bunnies to join the fun at this Easter table setting.

To add more interest to this lovely lilac gingham pattern, I’ve paired it with a set of Sky Blue Linen Gabrielle Ruffle Napkins to add a whimsical touch to each place setting.

These Gabrielle Ruffle Napkins truly have my heart, and they come in dozens of gorgeous colors!! I think that the Pink Lemonade color and the versatile Light Natural color are next on my wish list!

They're 100% linen, so soft and luxurious and best of all, they're machine washable.

Both the linen gingham tablecloth and linen ruffle napkins are part of the new Solino Home Spring Collection, and they have so many pretty choices that would be lovely here in the breakfast room.

This is where we eat most of our meals, so I always want to bring in a little bit of a cozy vintage feel to this space.

Gingham is the epitome of "cozy" and timelessness that can transcend every season and holiday and always puts a big smile on my face!

Are you as excited as I am that spring is finally here?

Aren’t these green egg cups so cute? I recently found them on Amazon and they’re quite affordable. I think they look very vintage… don’t you?

This is a classic way to instantly set a beautiful table, and it’s soooo very easy when you start with pretty table linens like this Lilac Gingham Tablecloth and Sky Blue Gabrielle Ruffle Napkins.

You then simply add your favorite plates, glasses and flatware. A few lovely bouquets of cottage garden flowers always help to brighten the table.

Creating an ambiance is all about paying attention to the little details and making your guests feel welcome and comfortable.

Enjoy your spring dining experience!

a Peter Rabbit table in the veg garden

Many of us have grown up loving dear Peter Rabbit and many of the other adorable Beatrix Potter characters. 🐇

With Easter seeming to be on the far-off horizon for 2025, it’s not until April 20th, it’s always fun to start planning ahead.

So today, I'm sharing a tablescape that is very dear to my heart... a Peter Rabbit themed table for Easter.

I've taken some of my favorite aspects of this endearing and timeless story by Beatrix Potter and put my own spin on it.

For me, the jumping off point is the backdrop of my treasured vegetable garden.

How perfectly enchanting for this do be the place for Peter to do his frolicking in.

And check out these lovely blue and white Peter Rabbit transferware dishes that I recently found at Home Goods.

Isn't this the perfect spot for a little cup of chamomile tea? 🐰

This table is a mix of favorite English style items that I cherish, like this beautiful antique ironstone tea pot.

A few little topsy-turvy terracotta pots add to the allure of Peter hopping to and fro on this table.

Ooooops! There’s the watering can! Could Peter be hiding in there?

Aren’t these ornamental cabbages delightful? I get them every year at Armstrong’s, and I’m always drawn to the bright, vivid pink and green color combinations that their leaves feature.

Did you notice the little bunny napkin rings? I found them here at Arthur Court. The pretty linen napkins are from All Cotton and Linen.

For a slightly different set up in the veg garden, I’ve added a few little cupcakes with edible pansies for dessert.

The prettiest and most charming flowers in my garden right now are these Edible Pansies from Armstrong Garden Center. They can add that ‘wow’ factor to any plate.

This is my favorite way to add a little touch of the garden to a favorite dessert, and it couldn’t be easier than using something as simple as these mini store-bought cupcakes.

Pansies like this make it so easy to add fresh, edible blooms to your baked goods, salads and charcuterie, because they just keep blooming and blooming!

Pansies have a pretty mild flavor, and even if you’re not interested in eating them, you can still include these edible violas as a garnish.

Here are a few other beautiful ways to use fresh pansy flowers:

🌸Press them into soft cheeses

🌸Use them to garnish deviled eggs

🌸Bake them into tea cookies

🌸Make candied pansies

🌸Freeze them into ice cubes with other edible flowers

🌸Add to the top of a salad after tossing

In case you haven’t heard, I started a new Instagram page in October and named it Claudia Fabiana Home. My former page is still up, but after getting a new phone, I was no longer able to log into this account, so the new profile was born!

I hope you’ll follow along with me on Instagram for all the latest projects and décor I will be sharing in 2025.

easy apple roses for dessert

Apple roses are truly are a delightful treat for both the eyes and the taste buds. Plus, they're surprisingly simple to make, considering how fancy they look.

🍎 Have you ever tried making them before? 🍎

Apple roses are not only delicious but also beautiful. Here's a simple recipe to make them from one of my favorite UK magazines.

(Metric conversions are under the recipe)

*25 grams = 1/4 cup sugar

*500 grams = 18 ounces frozen puff pastry dough
like Pepperidge Farm

*190°C  = 375°F

*60cm x 5cm = 24" x 2"

🍎🍎🍎

Apple roses are versatile and perfect for various occasions!

1.  Holiday Gatherings: They make a stunning addition to Thanksgiving or Christmas dessert tables.

2.   Special Celebrations: Birthdays, anniversaries, and weddings could be extra special with these elegant treats.

3.  Tea Parties: Impress your guests with a beautiful and delicious accompaniment to their tea or coffee.

4.   Brunches: A lovely treat for a weekend brunch with family and friends.

5.  Mother's Day: Show appreciation with a homemade and heartfelt dessert.

6.  Dinner Parties: Serve them as a fancy dessert to cap off a wonderful meal.

7.    Valentine's Day: A romantic and sweet gesture for your loved one.

8.   Just Because: Sometimes, you don't need a special occasion to enjoy a delightful treat!

🍎🍎🍎

You can get creative with flavor variations for apple pie roses. Here are some of my favorite flavor upgrades:

1.   Cinnamon Sugar: Sprinkle a mixture of cinnamon and sugar on the apples before rolling them up for a classic apple pie flavor.

2.   Caramel Apple: Drizzle a bit of caramel sauce on the apple slices or the puff pastry before rolling them up.

3.   Nutty Delight: Add a sprinkle of finely chopped nuts (like pecans or almonds) along with the apples for a nice crunch.

4.   Berry Blend: Mix in thin slices of berries like strawberries or raspberries with the apple slices for a fruity twist.

5.   Spiced Apple: Add a dash of nutmeg, allspice, or cloves along with the cinnamon for a warm, spiced flavor.

6.   Cheesy Apple: Spread a thin layer of cream cheese on the puff pastry before adding the apples for a creamy contrast.

7.   Chocolate Apple: Spread a thin layer of Nutella or chocolate spread on the puff pastry for a chocolatey treat.

8.   Citrus Twist: Add a bit of orange or lemon zest to the apple slices for a fresh citrus flavor.

Feel free to experiment with these variations to find your favorite combination. Enjoy your baking adventure!

roses, bunnies and candles for spring!

The one word that keeps creeping up this season is BUNNIES!

And I just found the cutest hand painted blue and white bunny rabbit pitcher on Amazon that’s so perfect for holding lots and lots of flowers!

It’s a really nice large size, as you can see here holding 3 dozen roses from Trader Joe’s.

Also pictured on my breakfast room table are the Songbird Candle Holder from Vagabond House and a tablecloth I recently made from a couple of yards of vintage fabric.

I love how it looks with all the blues in this room, I especially think it looks fab with this fun rabbit pitcher

I've been collecting these great vintage Reader's Digest books just for their colors, designs and the fact they come in handy for adding dimension and character to any setting.

You may recognize the Songbird Candle Holder from lots of my vignettes over the years. It's one of my favorite little pieces for spring!

Some of my favorite vintage and bargain finds are also pictured here. The table was an alley find for $0! The plates and platters on the wall were thrifted years ago, and some even came from Marshall's.

The chandelier is new, but has so much character, like a real vintage piece!

Here are some links to some of my favorite spring items:

I hope you're having a great weekend!

Off I go to the veg garden to plant some lettuce and rainbow chard...
