roses for valentine's day

Roses. 💐 You can never have too many roses, especially at this time of year!

At this table, I started with a small bouquet of old-fashioned garden roses…

and placed them in a small vintage red and white transferware tureen.

The rose theme continues with a cozy chintz table square and heart-shaped wreath in the window.

the prettiest butterflies for your table

Happy spring, friends! In order to celebrate this amazing season with just the right floral flourishes, I’ve set two different tables to emphasize my love for this season.

The first thing you will notice are butterflies!! I went all in with these gorgeous Butterfly Collection by Arthur Court. Wait ‘til you see all these goodies!

One of the easiest ways to add a favorite accent to a table is with a fun Butterfly Napkin Ring, and so here you have it…

Pretty in pink gingham napkins presented in the most spring-like fashion I can think of... wrapped in a pretty butterfly!

Of course, I also had to include Butterfly Plates and Seagrass Placemats at each table setting. Check out how beautifully they look together.

Strawberry Tiramisu

But that’s not all! The covered Pyrex casserole dishes from Arthur Court are so pretty and useful, that the butterfly 3-quart baking dish also made it into my collection.

I already have the Seashell casserole dish, seen HERE, so I am familiar with the quality and ease of these pieces. Whenever I bring a side dish to a gather, I always get oohs and aahhs about this glass covered casserole.

A new favorite recipe for Strawberry Tiramisu gets first place in the yummy and pretty department, especially when displayed in this fun butterfly dish.

I’m sharing my Strawberry Tiramisu recipe with you. It’s such an easy, bake-free option that is so perfect for Easter or Mother’s Day.

Did you spot the adorable butterfly coffee mugs? Those have also made their way into my kitchen, and are so perfect for a cup of tea or a cappuccino.

Now how about some pretty new tablecloths and napkins for spring? The Primrose Collection from Solino Home epitomizes garden party chic like no other pattern!

A wonderful lattice pattern of roses in the prettiest of all colors for the season works wonderfully with the butterfly motif.

The dainty Primrose napkins and butterfly napkin rings just put a big smile on my face! Aren’t they the cutest?!

Check out the salad plates above. It's part of my wedding china, Rosedale by Wedgwood.

This is the perfect recipe to make now while as the strawberries are in season. I'll be making this for Easter and for Mother's day, just because it's so pretty and truly delicious!

Check out all the pretty butterflies!! You can't get better than this set that includes the super-useful matching glass cover. I went all in with the gorgeous Butterfly Collection by Arthur Court.

Yes, those are glass coffee mugs that match the casserole dish. So cute, right?!

There also happens to be matching napkin rings, plates, placemats and more with the same cute butterfly motif. I'll be using this collection all spring and summer long, and you can check out two of my Butterfly tablescapes HERE.

a spring table highlighted with pink roses

It’s so easy to brighten up the whole room with just 3 bunches of pretty roses from Trader Joe’s. I love how they pop against the mostly white table.

The tablecloth and napkins are one of my favorite patterns,  by August Table called Talelayo in the color Sparrow.

I recently received these beautiful plates from Bordallo Pinheiro, and I love how the subtle pattern works with this tablecloth.

I kept the whole vibe casual and flirty, with the focus on my new plates. This pattern is called Rua Nova in the color Antique White.

You may recognize the name Bordallo Pinheiro because they’re well known for making those gorgeous green cabbage shaped plates and service ware.

I also used these beautiful plates to set my New Year’s Eve table a few months ago…

I love the color of these salad plates in Morning Blue.

I’ve collected those fun green cabbage plates for years and was impressed to find out they’ve been making those beautiful plates in Portugal since 1884!

Now I have this gorgeous set of Rua Nova white plates that are so pretty for every day use, and are special enough for any holiday or special occasion. I couldn't be more thrilled with them!

new plates for valentine's day

In honor of Valentine’s Day as a day to celebrate LOVE, I’ve set a simple little table with a few soft pink accents and my new set of Bordallo Pinheiro plates, chargers and bowls as the starring element of this tablescape.

Rua Nova Cake Stand in Morning Blue

To accentuate the beauty of the plate, I chose this pink tablecloth from Pacific & Rose. I hand-stenciled these plain white napkins with my own personal “Conversation Hearts.

Three bunches of different fairy roses from Trader Joe's create an informal centerpiece.

You’ll be seeing a lot more of these Antique White Rua Nova plates at my table. The styling possibilities are endless.

the cutest valentine napkins to make

With an upcoming photoshoot for Valentine’s Day, I needed something special to add a spark to the table, so I decided to stencil my own “Conversation Heart” napkins.

I wanted something to blend in with this pretty Luka Pink tablecloth and not take too much away from the pretty new plates I just got. But it had to make a bit of a statement… a Valentine’s Day statement.

These fun stencils were found on Amazon. I bought two sets: one with a variety of different heart sizes, and another with six different Valentine’s sayings.

You know how the conversation heart candies have a slightly powdery look to them? Well, stenciling is perfect to achieve this effect.

I happened to have six plain white napkins, so I started with stenciling a light pink heart in a corner of each napkin. I then went in with a pretty red color for the written message, just like the candies.

All in all, this project couldn’t have taken more than ten minutes from start to finish.

Here are all the napkins so you can see them. I’m pretty happy with how they turned out, but I’m even happier with how they look at the table.

I’ll be sharing more on the whole table soon, especially details of these pretty plates and tablecloth. All in all, Valentine’s Day is a day to celebrate love, and love come in so many different forms, doesn’t it?

If you’d like to try this project out, here are the supplies I used:

·      Pink Paint

·      Red Paint

·      Heart Stencils

·      ValentineMessages Stencil

·      Set of WhiteNapkins

·      Stencil Brush
