last month's most pinned images

Pinterest is an interesting thing... pins can become popular right away or after many years suddenly become viral!

I’ve noticed over the years, that this time of the year gets “hot” on pinterest. “Fall fever” seems to affect everyone! We love gathering images of autumn leaves, beautiful pumpkins and creative ideas for Halloween and Thanksgiving, including wonderful tablescapes.

After receiving notifications and insight showing that these have been the most pinned photos from my blog, you can see, many are fall related.

This momentum rolls right through to Christmas and New Years with us all so thirsty for gorgeous holiday ideas! Pinterest seems to be the ultimate party planning place for us all.

Here are some other popular images from last month...

I hope you’re enjoying the holiday weekend  💗

interior design pinners to follow

I can hardly believe that I’ve been included in Carla Aston’s list of Top 20 Must-Follow Interior Design Pinners on Pinterest! She’s included some of my all-time favorite interior designers as well like Emily Henderson and Mark D. Sikes.

The collage above includes my eight faves that I'm going to feature today.

Carla Aston

Here’s what interior designer Carla Aston has to say about how she compiled the list, “I began this list on New Year’s Day, 6 years ago, with 10 “Pinners To Follow”, adding on to it in that same year. I ended up at 40 interior design pinners featured.

After a few years, some of the pinners on my list moved into different niches or stopped pinning consistently. Pinterest had changes that kept you from seeing the pins of people you were following, so the list seemed a little pointless then.

The introduction of Instagram captured everyone’s attention and Pinterest became more of a marketing tool and search engine, not something you necessarily go to for visual design inspiration.

However, with the “Following” tab at the top of your feed, you can now see more results from the people you follow. It’s becoming more like how it used to be on Pinterest, if you use
that tab.

So, I felt it was time to republish this list with an update.

I wanted to bring you the pinners I feel are still very actively pinning plenty of valuable, current, inspirational interior design images.

I focused on pinners who pinned images without a lot of text overlay, from a variety of sources, not just their own websites.
These pinners below were part of the original list and made the cut. Scroll through them and follow each one, if you haven’t already!”

Here are some of my all-time faves from Carla's list.

Click on designers' photos for link to their Pinterest page.

you can follow me too 😏

So these eight designers are definitely pinners that I’ve followed closely over the years, but Carla’s list also includes these AMAZING PINNERS that I love as well…

LYNDA QUINTERO-DAVIDS

VICTORIA SMITH, SF GIRL BY BAY

DEBRA PHILLIPS, 5TH AND STATE

RACHEL ELISE DESIGN

GLORIA DE LOURDES BLALOCK

PAM O’CONNELL

Do you already follow any of these pinners?

I'd love to know!

candy hearts and pink tulips

Here’s a little
 pinteresting and fun flowerscape
I put together for

Valentine's Day

and all you need to pull off this look is
a bag of conversation hearts,
a pretty bunch of tulips and
two nesting glass vases.

I spotted this idea on pinterest
a few years ago and thought it would be fun

to recreate!

Place one cylindrical vase inside another
and just make sure you have a nice gap
inbetween the vases for filling with candy hearts.

One package of candy was all I needed
for this eight inch vase.

falling for fall

I know I’ve mentioned this before, but Fall really is my favorite time of year! I don’t know what it is. Maybe it has to do with the start of all the holidays coming up, like Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. It really gets me in a festive mood just thinking about it!

We had some pretty warm weather this past weekend, but that’s expected of October here in Southern California. Maybe the heat only helps the intensity of the colors of the fall leaves… I hope so!

Pottery Barn tablescape

Last week I stopped in at Pottery Barn, and there were no signs of the Monique Lhuillier tableware yet, but they do have several pretty Thanksgiving tables set. It’s always fun to see what their inspiration is from year to year

Williams-Sonoma tablescape

Williams-Sonoma drew me in with the smell of their mulled apple cider that I could smell from across the way at Pottery Barn. They were serving that and some fresh pumpkin bread, mmmmm how can you not be in the mood for Fall with those aromas?

Look what I found on pinterest... a tablescape inspired by the “Be Thankful” Thanksgiving table I did last year for Oriental Trading.

Notice the same crossed pheasant feathers and the “Be Thankful” silver charm? It’s so nice when we can inspire each other.

I love these festive turkey plates!

And the use of color in the centerpiece is beautiful.

table by La Dolfina

I think I was originally inspired for my “Be Thankful” tablescape by this one by La Dolfina. I love how she uses deep, rich shades of brown and then surprises us with the lovely pop of blue in the glassware.

My husband’s cousin Lee created this lovely centerpiece in her Nashville home. It reminds me of my white pumpkin and Dusty Miller arrangement in a wooden flower box. Lee has such all-around great taste. She also has a line of yummy pickles and my favorite red pepper jelly created from special family recipes, called Oakley’s Southern Delights!

Making a trip to the pumpkin patch has been a family tradition for us for a long time, and Tanaka Farms in Irvine is the best one I’ve ever been to. They actually grow tons and tons of pumpkins here, in addition to lots of other fruits and veggies. Look at all these beautiful pumpkins

It’s so cute that they feature all the Hello Kitty characters here and there are lots of beautiful spots for photo ops.

“Oh, hi there, cutie!”

I can’t help being inspired by this season with all these wonderful things around me. Thanks for letting me share them with all of you!

💕

While I’m here today, I wanted to share some of my "Tablescaping Essentials" with you. I have a whole page on the Amazon website with my favorite picks for setting a beautiful table.

Quite often time is of the essence, and I have last minute projects or events to work on, so I turn to Amazon for one or two day delivery. You’d be surprised at how many amazing items they have to offer! And I'm constantly updating this page with my new favorites.

You can check it out here, at Tablescaping Essentials.
