3 new celebrity recipes

From the pages of People Magazine, today I’m sharing 3 delicious celebrity recipes that will make your tastebuds very happy!

Click on each recipe to enlarge and print.

Perfect for indulging in something warm and comforting during the weekdays, we have Joanna Gaines’ recipe for Chicken Tortilla Soup.

I’ve made this myself with my homemade chicken stock and I can attest to this tortilla soup being quite tasty! It’s perfect for making and having over the course of two days, which I love! Cook one day and rest the next.

I love the idea of making these next two recipes for a little weekend indulgence. Don’t feel like going out to a fancy dinner in a restaurant? Make one at home instead, and let’s Start with George Clooney’s recipe for Mojito Risotto with Seared Scallops! Yum!!

Don’t be intimidated, this recipe is pretty easy to make, and if you’ve ever made home made risotto, you know it’s quite a treat in itself! Personally I like less rum added, or none at all.

And now for my favorite part of the meal, dessert! And it’s perfectly alright to treat yourself like a princess while partaking in this glorious dessert!

The Princess of Wales’ Sticky Toffee Pudding is a treat for all the senses, and trust me, if you’ve never had sticky toffee pudding you are missing out… big time!! Give it a try this weekend.

Oh, and here's another one of Kate's delicious recipes. I've made this chutney several times, and it's delicious served with a traditional chicken salad or with cheese and crackers.

I hope you’ll follow along with me on Instagram for all the latest projects and décor I will be sharing in 2025.

princess Kate's favorite Christmas treats

Kate Middleton is known for her elegant and stylish fashion choices, especially during the festive season. For Christmas, she often opts for classic colors like reds and greens and sometimes incorporates plaid patterns into her outfits.

Tartan has a rich history and various connotations in fashion. Tartan plaid is deeply rooted in Scottish culture, often associated with clans and families.

I love how Princess Catherine wears plaid, as it can be dressed up or down, making it a versatile pattern that has stood the test of time.

During the holiday season, the royal family wears the most beautiful and stylish plaid patterns, especially in red and green to evoke a sense of warmth and festivity at Christmastime.

Now here's something I love just as mush as Kate does... Sticky toffee pudding!! It's a Christmas classic, and it’s no surprise that Kate enjoys it during the festive season. Here’s her simple recipe for you to try.

If you've never had Sticky Toffee Pudding, you're in for a real treat!

And here’s another traditional Christmas dessert…

King Charles also has a fondness for traditional Christmas desserts, including plum pudding. This rich, steamed pudding is packed with dried fruits, spices, and often a splash of brandy or rum, making it a festive favorite.

Prince William and the Princess of Wales have several cherished holiday traditions that they enjoy with their family.

They make sure to spend quality time together as a family, often baking and decorating Christmas cookies, and watching holiday movies like "Elf," which is a favorite of Prince William.

Like all of us, they also hang stockings by the fireplace and leave out very British mince pies and milk for Santa and the reindeer.

They continue the tradition of attending a Christmas church service at St. Mary Magdalene Church in Sandringham, a long-standing Windsor family custom.

I love that Kate and William have started creating their own separate holiday traditions, including hosting their own holiday party with Kate's family. This allows them to have a more private and relaxed celebration away from the larger royal family.

Plaid always brings out the true spirit of the holidays, whether it's adding a plaid pillow on your sofa or brightening up an outfit with a bit of tartan.

looking forward to the new year

Happy New Year!

I’m so excited about all the amazing things that await us in the new year. Some of my favorite things that I'll be covering in 2019 will be…

More fabulous decorating ideas,

as well as

and fun storage options.

This weekend, I came across these amazing pictures of the royal family visiting with the locals outside church on Christmas day, and I was amazed at how detailed the pics were! It’s like we’re standing right there next to Meghan and Kate!

And speaking of Meghan, she does look quite advanced in her pregnancy. I’m guessing for maybe a March birth. They did say she was expecting in the spring.

Do you think it will be a boy or a girl?

Such great candid photos!

You may have seen my latest new year’s eve tablescape on my blog, in the Romantic Homes January issue or on the Cottages and Bungalows website, but what really excites me is when one of my tablescapes is recreated by a friend and they style it with their own unique style.

Our really good friend Sherri set her New Year’s table with the same printable clock faces, clear glass plates and chargers. Doesn’t it look beautiful?!

Yay Sherri! It turned out great! Now you can use those clear glass plates for just about every holiday!

You can see the whole table here on the Cottages and Bungalows website. They added all the extras that weren’t included in Romantic Homes.

Be on the lookout in the next week for my blog post on my favorite store in Savannah, The Paris Market.

It's one of my first stops when we visit Savannah every summer. Here's a little peek...

I’m happy to announce my collaboration with Farmhouse Style Magazine this upcoming year. It’s a quarterly magazine that comes out for each season.

The spring issue should be out within the next week or two, and features a couple of my projects that I shot exclusively for them, like these Lemon Blueberry Streusel Muffins.

Here’s the new cover…

I’m also continuing my collaboration with Romantic Homes as well as their sister publication Cottages and Bungalows magazine, so I’ll share more insight on those stories as well in 2019.

Wishing you all an amazing year ahead, with lots of peace, love and laughter!

happy new year!
