happy 2025 !

Pretty purple roses from my summer garden. 

As we welcome the year 2025, I have to say again how truly grateful I am to have friends like you. I really appreciate the time you take to check in with me on this blog! 

For me 2024 has been a pretty good year. The good thing is that I kept busy on several new projects and even started styling more for magazines, which is a real treat! 

I’m still contributing to Country Sampler Farmhouse Style for every season, and I’m really excited about the Spring 2025 issue that will be out soon. In fact, I'm currently working on four more projects for the Autumn 2025 issue of Country Sampler Farmhouse Style. 

The most exciting news this year was that they selected my photo for the cover of the Winter 2024 issue! Check out the reel here!

I’m always styling the latest projects for Pacific & Rose. Elizabeth carries the prettiest block-printed table linens and  other great accessories like robes, aprons and cosmetic bags. I'm currently styling her newest colorway in the Lilibet pattern. 

It's called Caramel, and the color is so in tune with the Pantone Color of the year, Mocha Mousse! Come back in a couple of days, so you can see it!! 

Two lovely patterns from Pacific & Rose

This year I’ve begun a fun partnership with Antique Farmhouse. My two biggest projects for them were a Bridgerton Inspired tablescape and an English Cottage Christmas “event” that featured my home all done up for the holidays. Here’s the festive video to view, just for fun!

one tablecloth, four looks

Mixing and matching table linens and tableware is my favorite way to set tables. It gives a tablescape that "je ne sais quoi", and keeps it from looking too staged. 

Stripes and checks are really the most fun to play around with, so when I recently received a gorgeous Capri Stripe Navy Blue tablecloth from Solino Home, I decided to style it 4 different ways, using 4 different Solino Home napkins.

Each individual napkin style was used in a unique way for each table. I had fun with flowers, different china patterns and themes for all four tables. Here’s a peek at the first one…

 

For the first look, I used the Jolie Fleur napkins with a variety of blue and white accents, like transferware dinner plates, French salad plates and Wedgwood Jasperware accessories.

 

Pink peonies make this whole look pop, as do the vintage raffia placemats that provide a pretty textural contrast.

 

A lot of vintage tableware adds to the “coastal grandmother” look of this table. The stem glasses are my favorite touch, as the etched flowers echo the pretty Jolie Fleur pattern of the napkins.

The second look features both the tablecloth and napkins in the Capri Stripe pattern, but in different colors.

 

We’re sticking with the navy-blue Capri Stripe for the tablecloth and adding the Capri Ticking Stripe in the Natural color way for the napkins.

 

I paired blue and white transferware with brown and white transferware for a nod to the color combination of the table linens. Each place setting has different china patterns and plate combinations.

 

Texture is again brought in with different placemats. This time it's my shell-trimmed placemats to which I add this pretty bamboo flatware that I love so much.

 

Whimsical Monarch butterflies and chamomile flowers add a sentimental touch to the table.

 

The third look is so perfect for summer and all the red, white and blue parties that go hand-in-hand with summer entertaining.

 

Big, bold Red Buffalo Check napkins pair perfectly with the navy stripes of the tablecloth. I chose fun Shasta daisies to brighten up the center of the table.

 

This is a fun brunch or breakfast look for summer. Casual, but still pretty. This time the texture comes in the form of my reliable Serena & Lily raffia placemats and my new set of wicker napkin rings.

 

A big bowl of strawberries, croissants, coffee and toast are the perfect ingredients for this setting.

The last napkin option that I chose is the navy and white French Stripe Napkin. Stripes on stripes? Why not? The color is the same, so it works here.

 

Blue transferware plates set on solid white farmhouse plates creates a clean and crisp look with the linens. 

Vintage placemats, bright pink hydrangeas from the garden and vibrant blue goblets round off the fourth look for this pretty linen tablecloth.

 

All-in-all, I’m really impressed by the quality and look of the 100% linen napkins and tablecloths from Solino Home.

The classic stripes and patterns they offer make it so easy to set a pretty table.

more thanksgiving table inspiration

 

It’s only 17 days until Thanksgiving! I’ve always been a huge fan of this holiday, not only as a lovely time for gathering with family, but also for all the yummy food served on this big day.

 

Households across America will soon be setting their tables for this special feasting day, and it’s what I like to call one of the biggest tablescaping days of the year!  

 

For this table, I pulled out some of my favorite vintage wares and combined them in a whole new way. There’s no reason to run out and buy all new things when hosting a dinner party.

 

Use what you have and maybe treat yourself to one or two special items that you know you’ll treasure for years to come.

 

Here you can see I have my favorite ivory Wedgwood plates, Serena and Lily’s raffia placemats (that I use sooo much all year long), and these sparkly amber glasses.

 

These fabulously faceted glasses were made by the Indiana Glass Company and are called Whitehall Glasses.

 

I just love how they sparkle in the candlelight.

 

These pretty little Limoges bread plates are a new find. I couldn’t resist the adorable autumn leaves that decorate them. I found twelve of them at a local thrift shop last week.

 

That’s my new little "vintage" splurge for this table.

 

The large brass lantern, white turkey compote dish and the large tureen were also thrift finds from the past few years. 

I softened the look of the built-in buffet with a few olive branches from the garden. Pumpkins and votives finish off the look. I hope you enjoyed the peek at this latest table. Thanks for checking in with me...

happy halloween!

 

Happy Halloween! 🎃 I wanted to pop in today to give you a peek at my Halloween table setting in the breakfast room. It's called the breakfast room, but we virtually have every meal in there!

 

To start off, I’ve gathered some of my favorite things to create a casual but slightly spooky vibe for today. 

 

The inspiration for the table were these fun black and white spider web print napkins. 🕸

I paired them with these gorgeous vintage cream-colored Wedgewood plates and my favorite oak leaf cutlery.

 

A DIY ticking stripe table runner, pastel pumpkins, and glittery votives finish off the look. 

We still needed a pop of something, so I went out to the yard and snipped a few eucalyptus branches to add some life to the table. Simple but festive for today. 

We're planning on having chili later today and maybe some homemade pizza. I can't wait to see all the adorable trick or treaters! What are your plans today? 👻

thanksgiving 2020

Just wanted to pop in to share our yesterday’s Thanksgiving table... 

   

  

This year our Thanksgiving table was ultra-simplified. I first brought out these beautiful ivory Wedgwood plates. They’re a sentimental nod to our dear family, and we don’t need much more than that. 

For me it’s all about spending quality time with our loved ones, and not going so overboard with superfluous details. 

 

The last two days have filled my house with lots of prep work and the delectable smells of Thanksgiving… the stuffing, sweet potatoes, pies, cranberry sauce, gravy, turkey...

Today’s our big transition day from fall to winter… can’t wait! 

 

 

Although this year is so different than past years, my thoughts can’t help go to those who may have spent the holiday alone. Stay strong. We’ll get through this soon enough.
