gorgeous new table setting accessories

Fresh and lovely, these new pieces from Carolyn Bender Lifestyle have my heart skipping a beat. Check out these gorgeous Cabochon Agate napkin rings paired with luxurious dip-dyed linen napkins.

Pretty white plates, blue-grey water goblets and fun and funky Boho Placemats are all also from Carolyn Bender. 

So many great pieces for holiday table setting!

Setting my dining room table with fall inspiration started with a beautiful tablecloth from August Table, and then I added beautiful placemats, plates, blue glass goblets, napkins and candlesticks from Carolyn Bender Lifestyle.

 

To soften the center of the table, I added roses, cosmos, dusty miller and olive branches from my garden. A little bunch of dried grass helps soften the look.

 

Designated seating is oh-so important, especially at Thanksgiving, so why not make it beautiful?

These stunning turkey place card holders are from Arthur Court.

All that was needed was to add a few autumn details, like pumpkins and these adorable blue and white pumpkin appetizer plates.

 

I'll be using these goodies all season long and well into the Christmas holiday season too!! I love how versatile each piece is.

the most perfect plates for autumn

Now that September is in full swing, we can really focus on that spectacular season of the year, FALL! 🍁🍂

 

What better way to show your fall spirit than with the most gorgeous fine bone china dinner plates embellished with the most amazing oak leaf and acorn pattern?

 

This is the Norwood Acorn pattern from Vagabond House. 

At this table, I’ve used the salad plates paired with pretty and lacy Finezza dinner plates from Arte Italica and rustic raffia placemats from Serena & Lily.

A few fallen autumn leaves add a bit of whimsy to the table. 🍁🍂

 

Vintage inspired amber glass goblets really help to light up the table, and adds a bit of sparkle.

 

I just love how bringing in a few bundles of foraged autumn branches picks up on the lovely realistic leaf pattern of the Norwood china.

 

Fall is my favorite time for foraging, and this table shows you how easy it can be! Also make note of the beautiful Acorn Flatware also from Vagabond House.

 

Each individual utensil has got so much detail that it makes it a true pleasure to sit down and eat a meal, all while enjoying these precious pieces.

more thanksgiving table inspiration

 

It’s only 17 days until Thanksgiving! I’ve always been a huge fan of this holiday, not only as a lovely time for gathering with family, but also for all the yummy food served on this big day.

 

Households across America will soon be setting their tables for this special feasting day, and it’s what I like to call one of the biggest tablescaping days of the year!  

 

For this table, I pulled out some of my favorite vintage wares and combined them in a whole new way. There’s no reason to run out and buy all new things when hosting a dinner party.

 

Use what you have and maybe treat yourself to one or two special items that you know you’ll treasure for years to come.

 

Here you can see I have my favorite ivory Wedgwood plates, Serena and Lily’s raffia placemats (that I use sooo much all year long), and these sparkly amber glasses.

 

These fabulously faceted glasses were made by the Indiana Glass Company and are called Whitehall Glasses.

 

I just love how they sparkle in the candlelight.

 

These pretty little Limoges bread plates are a new find. I couldn’t resist the adorable autumn leaves that decorate them. I found twelve of them at a local thrift shop last week.

 

That’s my new little "vintage" splurge for this table.

 

The large brass lantern, white turkey compote dish and the large tureen were also thrift finds from the past few years. 

I softened the look of the built-in buffet with a few olive branches from the garden. Pumpkins and votives finish off the look. I hope you enjoyed the peek at this latest table. Thanks for checking in with me...

falling for pumpkins

It's nearly October, my favorite month and that's really got me pumped! Yes, from now until Halloween it's going to be pumpkins, pumpkins and more pumpkins!

Don't worry, I'll share other stuff too, but for now I'm slightly obsessed. I do love the little white pumpkins because they're so easy to add to just about any look.

The floral above is from Bouquet Box. I arranged these flowers last week and they're still going strong and smell amazing! The only flowers that didn't last were the three red poppies, but that to be expected.

 

Wild and unruly pinky lavender Japanese anemones from the garden fill this newly found vintage ironstone pitcher. A little bit of brown transferware is always a favorite look for fall. 

I look forward to these autumn blooming Japanese Anemones all year long, and they're just going wild in the back garden. 

Cute little pumpkins are a must in just about every room. 

 

I tend to love the more muted colors for fall and add a pop of color with the mums. I’ll share details of this beautiful fringed throw soon. It isn’t officially released until October. 

Fall table setting can be so easy if you have the right seasonal accents. Believe it or not, all these little pumpkins and gourds are real, and I just purchased them this weekend at Armstrong's Garden Center. 

A wooden cake pedestal works perfectly as the base. I then layered in some interesting pumpkins and gourds, softened the look with a few Heavenly Bamboo leaf cuttings from the garden, and for a whimsical touch nestled a few mums in between everything. Cheery and fun for our weeknight dinners!

 

The secret is to mix in some simple tableware for an effortless look.

Today’s dining room mood… I can’t get enough of these peachy-orange Cinderella pumpkins mixed in with the beautiful white pumpkins and green-tinged gourds. The colors are so soft and ethereal, and such a great alternative to traditional bright orange pumpkins.

Late afternoon in the breakfast room... the September sun dazzles like no other! I've paired my chunky linen runner with a whole assortment of new pumpkins.

 

I recently found 3 huge boxes of vintage candles at a yard sale, and much to my surprise, there were several orange beeswax candles... so perfect here.

 

Patterned napkins from August Table are the perfect backdrop for the little white "Baby Boo" pumpkins at each place setting, and the amber goblets glow in the September sunlight.

That’s not all… I’m working on several other new fall and year-round tablescapes this week, and I can’t wait to share them with you all.

tablescape : weekend pattern play

New napkins and a crisp tablecloth are a fine way to start a Sunday morning. In this case, this is a new pattern from August Table called Juniper.

 

It’s a simple and whimsical pinecone pattern with the most beautiful border.

 

This print is available in five different colorways, and I just love this “Slate” blue color because it pairs so well with some of my favorite vintage plates.

 

Raffia placemats, wicker napkin rings and bamboo flatware always add the perfect dose of pretty texture to a table. A few late season hydrangeas freshly cut from the garden soften the look of the table and give us an extra special focal point.

 

Those vintage yellow goblets are thrown in for a little dash of sparkle. There’s a funny story connected to those, well sort of funny…

 

I found one at an estate sale recently for $1, and didn’t think much of it, because there was only one, and I do like to mix and match my vintage glassware.

 

Well, after sitting it on the table and seeing the sunlight streaming though together with these table linens, I just fell in love.

I was lucky enough to find 5 more exact matches on eBay for a reasonable price and now I have a lovely set of 6.

 

These mid-century glasses, Kings Crown Thumbprint pattern by Indiana Glass are just the prettiest shade of yellow. Nothing like the amber goblets I have in my collection.

 

I don’t know why, but I just like the unexpected pop of yellow as an understated nod to autumn.

 

Folding the napkins in this fan pattern also accentuates the fun border that goes all the way around this print. Not too shabby for a casual Sunday brunch at home.
