kyle's new closet / dressing room

This week on the finale of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, we got a peek into Kyle’s new closet!

Wow! She actually refers it to as a “dressing room”, only because she feels a little guilty about taking up one whole bedroom in her home and converting it into a closet, and that’s why there’s a pull-out sofa in there.

That way it still could be considered a bedroom, right?  Lucky guests, right?

Here are a few shots from Kyle's instagram.

I do love the mirrored vanity centered in the window,
and of course the corner handbag display.

The mirrored closet doors make the room look twice as
big and add to the whole glamorous vibe of the room!

This is what the room looked like before!

I guess her old closet, pictured above,
was getting a little cramped!

Meanwhile, Andy asked Kyle if she consulted
Lisa about her closet makeover.... ummm..,
No... oh yes, she did.  But Faye Resnick designed if for her.

 And here's Lisa's massive closet!

 Stay tuned...
next week I discuss the whole kaftan look
that has taken over Bravo this season.

favorite closet details

Today,

I’m just sharing

a few of my favorite

chic closet details

1. having drawers under the hanging clothes
and an antique table to hold accessories.

2. added luxury with a chandeliermirrored
vanity, white pouf and a white fur rug.

3. hooks and rods for hanging jewelry.

4. a washer and dryer in the closet!
How easy would that make things?

5. a floor to ceiling shoe rack and fabulous wall paper.

6. a wall of shoes and clutches
with an alcove for a favorite piece of art.

7. interesting "catch-alls" for jewelry.

8. a center island of drawers and a touch of pink
in this gorgeous closet.

9. a chic gray color with streamlined details.

10. a making the closet feel like room.

pretty display options for storing jewelry

the earring and ring box

Stella & Dot has just came out with
these fabulous jewelry display pieces
available to the public,
and they’re so pretty!

Made with a khaki linen fabric,
these enclosed white wood boxes have
beaded trim detail and
Stella & Dot plaque on each signature piece.

They box even have
a magnetic lid for easy closing.

the signature large picture frame 18 x 18

The display picture frames
come in three different sizes,
8 x 10, 12 x 15, and 18 x 18.

They turn your jewelry into
art for your walls!
And now, all your jewelry will be easy to find
and tangle-free!  I love this idea!

the double bracelet bar

Look at how many bracelets this
double bracelet bar holds!

I just ordered two of these to hold
my Stella stuff and some of my vintage pieces.

These display bars are sturdy and
so versatile for your bedroom,
closet or vanity area.

We got a sneak peek of
these display pieces a few weeks ago,
when we visited Heather
and got to a first look at her new closet.

Cynthia brought them over for us to use while finalizing the organization of the closet.

The bracelet bar fits perfectly on the closet shelf.

It's so nice to see all the accessories organized neatly.

beautiful storage solutions

Happy Monday! With the kids back in school this week, I’m in full-on organization mode! I’m sure I’m not the only one, but January is always the month when I want to regroup, declutter and get more organized.

With the hustle and bustle of the holidays, things tend to pile up here and there and so now’s a great time for a fresh start in the new year.

The latest Better Homes and Gardens magazine has lots and lots of fun, creative and beautiful storage ideas, so I’m sharing this inspiration with you all today. Open shelving in the kitchen is nothing new, but don't you love the contrast of this aged brick backsplash with these rustic wood shelves? I wonder if I have a spot in my kitchen for open shelving...hmmmm.

Bathroom storage couldn’t get more sleek and elegant than this chrome étagère with black & white accessories and natural woven baskets.

In this family room, custom wood crates are personalized with family members’ names and help keep the family organized. The colorful maps on the wall are fun too!

The painted brick and wood flooring are the perfect backdrop for colorful books and accessories in this home office, and organizing books by color creates lots of visual appeal.

I LOVE how the books match the artwork, the amazing hot pink chair and primitive blue table!

Floor to ceiling cabinets are one way to stay organized in the laundry room, and a vintage industrial rack is another!

A niche in this bedroom is the perfect spot to reinvent the look of a vintage Hoosier cabinet with a white-washed finish. I would love this look in the kitchen or as a butlers pantry.

Don’t forget your accessory drawers need organization too. Keep things ready-to-wear and tangle-free with little compartments for each special piece.

Can’t get enough closet space? Why not transform an extra bedroom into a luxurious boutique-style dressing room and closet? I’m game!

Kenneling your pooch is a great idea, and they really feel safe being in their own space. I love how Jeanette beautified her dog’s crate with this simple little project.

architectural digest : Sofía Vergara

Architectural Digest recently showcased Sofía Vergara’s luxurious Los Angeles residence in its “Hollywood at Home” edition.

Vergara, who bought the house with her former husband Joe Manganiello, led an extensive makeover that transformed the once-outdated property into a welcoming, richly decorated space brimming with antiques and personal details.

Sophia worked with interior designer Ohara Davies-Gaetano and architect Timothy Corrigan to reimagine her house.

The home, originally built in the 1990s, was completely updated. Arches and columns were removed to create a space that's brighter and feels more open.

A peek of the kitchen from Sophia’s Instagram.

Landscape designer Stephen Block created gardens filled with tropical plants that reflect Vergara's Colombian heritage.

The redesign includes European antiques from countries like Spain, Sweden, France, and Italy.

Notable pieces are an 18th-century Venetian mirror, a French limestone fireplace from the same period, and ornate Baroque armchairs with gilded details.

The 18th-century Venetian mirror with a newer console.

Elegant touches throughout the house include a dining room ceiling decorated with hand-embossed floral plaster, an antique chandelier from Italy, and a sizable collection of porcelain antiques.

What a dreamy outdoor space!

So perfect for parties!

I love the muted colors used here.

She's especially proud of her walk-in closet, which is floor-to-ceiling, color-coordinated.

Sophia describes her closet as "a girl's girl's dream."

Sofia also owns a vacation house called "Casa Chipi Chipi" in a secret location believed to be in Colombia, her homeland.

She enjoys spending time there with her family and often welcomes friends and fellow actors to visit.

The home is famous for its tropical atmosphere and warm, fun décor that reflects Sofia's lively personality.

Hey! I have those same pillows!

They’re from Serena and Lilly.

Such a pretty and beachy place setting!

We hope you enjoyed this tour of Sophia Vergara’s lovely homes.
