3 new fall patterns from Pacific & Rose

the Andaluz Collection

This is the time of year that makes me so happy! Yes, it’s practically fall, and you know how much I love fall, but today, I’m really excited about the release of the new Andaluz Collection from Pacific & Rose... and more!

Premiering this week from Pacific & Rose, three brand new tablecloths and matching napkins as well as the best surprise of all, lots and lots of gorgeous new luxurious linen pillows!

First I'd love to show you the tablecloths and napkins. We'll start with the gorgeous Granada pattern...

This pattern on the table is called Granada Blush. A lovely, subdued print for those of us who love just a hint of pink. The colors are subtle and soft and so pretty for the fall and winter seasons ahead.

The Granada print in Blush is a stylized update on the traditional pomegranate motif. Block printed in a subtle blush pink, this color is reminiscent of the buildings in the old city of Jaipur, known as the Pink City.

Hand block-printed on a substantial oxford cotton by traditional artisans with hand-carved teak blocks at their fair-trade workshop in Jaipur, India.

And check out the Granada print in Stone. This stylized update of our traditional pomegranate motif is block printed in tones of stone blue, indigo and olive creating a subtle chorus of cool weather colors.

Summer into fall is one of my favorite times of the year for inspiration. I love the moodiness of the eucalyptus leaves with the bright pop of pink from the coleus with the subtle color palette of the Granada tablecloth and matching napkins.

As you can see above, I am also sharing a peek at two of the newest pillows in the Madrid pattern, Indigo on the left and Stone Blue on the right.

I love that these colors are so versatile, just like a pair of favorite worn-in dungarees. The combination of colors lends itself to matching with practically any color combination.

I love that something as simple as a bundle of eucalyptus can brighten up a whole room.

🌿My neighbor Maureen has a eucalyptus tree in her front yard, and I have permission to snip off fresh leaves whenever I need them. She’s so sweet!

Along with the Cordoba tablecloth and napkins and the two colorways for the Granada pattern, Pacific & Rose is releasing an array of fabulous new linen pillows for fall.

Can you spot the Madrid pillow in Caramel in the photo above?

This Cordoba print with its swirling foliage is block printed in tones of caramel and indigo, a perfect cool weather color palette.

For a little fun, I used the Stoneware Bee napkin ring from Vagabond House and gorgeous Arte Italica dinner plates and Boho placemat from  Carolyn Bender. Doesn't the placemat look perfect with the Cordoba print?

The Cordoba print coordinates beautifully with the linen Madrid pillows in Caramel or indigo.

Who’s ready for some pillow talk? All the new pillows from Pacific & Rose are block-printed on 100% natural linen.

Pictured above are the Alhambra and Malaga pillows.

Next, we have the Madrid in Indigo with the Madrid in Caramel and the Toledo Pillow in Indigo.

Another lovely combination is Madrid in Stone Blue and Toledo in Olive. It’s the perfect look for a beach house or modern cottage.

Here’s a peek at ALL the pillows. Seaside Gallery & Goods  will be carrying the whole new line of tablecloths, napkins and pillows as well as their classic favorites.

You can shop online here, or if you’re local, stop in for a visit in Newport Beach.

Seaside Gallery and Goods is located at 124 Tustin Avenue in Newport Beach, just off of Pacific Coast Highway.

this week's stylings

I'm so happy it’s the weekend! This past week has been a busy one for styling projects. Summer was a sort of a hiatus for me, so it’s fun to get back behind the camera and style a few things.

You may have seen this first table setting on Instagram. Aren’t these Hydrangea plates by Honey + Hank adorable? Can you make out each of the distinctive shapes of each of our states?

It's ingenious how they group them to form these fun stylized hydrangeas! A great size and the fact that these plates are melamine, makes them so great for everyday use. Pretty plates at lunch are a must!

I had a few new pillows to style too. These are from Pacific & Rose, made in India, and are hand stitched in creative designs. They’re available exclusively at Seaside Gallery.

New outdoor Bluetooth speakers by iLIVE are my new favorite thing for the garden! Read more about them HERE.

New holiday pillow alert!

Justina Blakeney of The Jungalow has designed the most stylish of all holiday pillows in her collaboration with Loloi Rugs

This chic, fully embroidered philodendron-like pattern is just what the doctor ordered to brighten up a boring little corner.  It's perfect for adding a bit of cheer during Christmas, but it'll fit in perfectly at my home all year round.

I have one more amazing throw from the Loili collaboration that I'm set to unveil in October... Can't wait to show you!

the fall look

Here are a couple of florals for a photoshoot I did on Friday for Pacific & Rose’s two newest patterns, Pomegranate & Laura's Garden.

Most of the flowers are from Trader Joe's but I did sneak in a few white English roses, leafy Nandina, and scented geraniums from the garden to fill out the look.

The pretty tea towel on the left is a preview of the new Pomegranate pattern collection by Pacific & Rose. Isn't it pretty?

You’ll get to see the whole collection when it's made public on Wednesday, so I’d love it if you check back with me to see it here on the blog.

the summer look

After finishing up the arrangements in these two ironstone pitchers, it reminded me of the set up I did for the summer cover of Country Sampler Farmhouse Style, so I tried to recreate the look with a fall vibe in the same sunny corner of the breakfast room.

Which do you prefer, summer or fall?

Pumpkins are one of the greatest joys of autumn, so one of the biggest treats for me is my latest collaboration with Armstrong Garden Centers.

I stopped by the Costa Mesa store yesterday and was thrilled to find that they had all my favorite pumpkins and gourds already available.

I just love the curly, twisty stems!

Here’s a little sampling of what my cart looked like while I was shopping, but that was just a start! I also selected several beautiful mums, autumn grasses, annuals, and perennials to dress up my tables, mantel, and front porch.

It’s important to stock up early on these items because I use them sooooo much from now clear through to Thanksgiving. They're so versatile and really add that pop of seasonal fun!

I hope your Sunday is a beautiful one. Can’t wait to check back with you soon!

8 ways to accent your home for summer

sunflowers

Today I’m sharing a few of my favorite ways to embrace the summer season with eight super easy accents you can add to your home.

Let’s start with flowers. Bright and cheerful, sunflowers just ooze the best of summer, and bring the sunshine right into your home! Whether they’re real or faux, these beauties add immediate "wow factor” to any room.

Even when they’re in the background, they add that fun splash of color that just makes me smile. I love how their sunny yellow petals look with all the blue and white accents in my home.

seashells

Seashells are one of the easiest ways to add that summer "on vacation" look to your home. But let’s be subtle with this look. Less is more. One spectacular Capiz light fixture immediately gives us that great coastal look.

An easier way to incorporate seashells is to just sprinkle a few on a coffee table or at the dinner table for a small intimate gathering.

Here we’ve got simple white starfish and my favorite embellished placemats. The rest of the table décor is simple, and that scallop shell salad plate just brings the whole look together.

new pillows

Do you switch your pillows out seasonally? I love light cotton and linen pillows for summer, especially ones that have a beachy sort of vibe. Leave the fluffy, nubby pillows in the closet until late autumn and focus on fresh summery pillows this season.

Even switching out one of two pillows will make a dramatic impact. These are a couple of my favorite ones, here in my dining room.

hydrangeas

My absolute favorite summer is the hydrangea. Yes, sunflowers are cheerful and fun, but hydrangeas are just so endearing and homey. And I love how the subtle colors in each bloom blend with each other for an ombre look.

Hydrangeas only get better with age. Like a beautiful fall leaf, the colors of hydrangea flowers only get richer by the end of the summer.

Now the white ones are in a class by themselves. Aren’t they just so elegant? And best of all, they look amazing in any room, inside or out!

french bistro chairs

I bought my Serena & Lily French bistro chairs several years ago, and I switch them out occasionally between my dining room and breakfast room. They just create a lovely summer look in any room they’re in and remind me of something you'd see at a cute outdoor café.

In fact, I have a set of four different bistro chairs in the backyard that I got at Home Goods a few years ago. They’re in a shady part of the garden with views of the flowers and fountain. It's the perfect spot for enjoying my first cup of coffee in the morning.

This is a view of our breakfast room. I love how these bistro chairs look with the round antique farmhouse table. Feels just like summer... doesn’t it?

an alfresco table

If you don’t already have a table and chairs outdoors for dining alfresco, I highly recommend moving a set out there. Even if it’s a small table and chair for one like this one, I think it’s worth it. In fact, I’ve seen the same little garden table and chairs at Ikea for a great price.

Another option that I love is searching yard sales and thrift stores for a funky little table and then mix and match it with a vintage chair or two.

Here’s a dreamy alfresco table, set beautifully and accented with those gorgeous blue hydrangeas in the center. What's your favorite thing about this coastal table?

Dining outdoors is special, even if it’s just you and a friend. A little charcuterie board, a bowl of fresh fruit and something refreshing to drink is one of life’s simplest pleasures.

lemons

One of my favorite and easiest decorating accents to use are lemons! Just like the sunflowers, lemons are bright and cheery. Place them in a pretty bowl or two, or use them on your dinner table for an instant pop of summer color.

These two blue and white ceramic bowls that I found at Home Goods are the ideal accents for pretty lemons. We do have several lemon trees, so I’m almost never without lemons. I love to use them in the kitchen too.

american flag

What is summer without celebrating the USA and proudly featuring our glorious American flag? Patriotic décor is so fun, especially between Memorial Day and Labor Day. That’s 98 days of fantastic red, white and blue options for summer décor!
