3 new fall patterns from Pacific & Rose

the Andaluz Collection

This is the time of year that makes me so happy! Yes, it’s practically fall, and you know how much I love fall, but today, I’m really excited about the release of the new Andaluz Collection from Pacific & Rose... and more!

Premiering this week from Pacific & Rose, three brand new tablecloths and matching napkins as well as the best surprise of all, lots and lots of gorgeous new luxurious linen pillows!

First I'd love to show you the tablecloths and napkins. We'll start with the gorgeous Granada pattern...

This pattern on the table is called Granada Blush. A lovely, subdued print for those of us who love just a hint of pink. The colors are subtle and soft and so pretty for the fall and winter seasons ahead.

The Granada print in Blush is a stylized update on the traditional pomegranate motif. Block printed in a subtle blush pink, this color is reminiscent of the buildings in the old city of Jaipur, known as the Pink City.

Hand block-printed on a substantial oxford cotton by traditional artisans with hand-carved teak blocks at their fair-trade workshop in Jaipur, India.

And check out the Granada print in Stone. This stylized update of our traditional pomegranate motif is block printed in tones of stone blue, indigo and olive creating a subtle chorus of cool weather colors.

Summer into fall is one of my favorite times of the year for inspiration. I love the moodiness of the eucalyptus leaves with the bright pop of pink from the coleus with the subtle color palette of the Granada tablecloth and matching napkins.

As you can see above, I am also sharing a peek at two of the newest pillows in the Madrid pattern, Indigo on the left and Stone Blue on the right.

I love that these colors are so versatile, just like a pair of favorite worn-in dungarees. The combination of colors lends itself to matching with practically any color combination.

I love that something as simple as a bundle of eucalyptus can brighten up a whole room.

🌿My neighbor Maureen has a eucalyptus tree in her front yard, and I have permission to snip off fresh leaves whenever I need them. She’s so sweet!

Along with the Cordoba tablecloth and napkins and the two colorways for the Granada pattern, Pacific & Rose is releasing an array of fabulous new linen pillows for fall.

Can you spot the Madrid pillow in Caramel in the photo above?

This Cordoba print with its swirling foliage is block printed in tones of caramel and indigo, a perfect cool weather color palette.

For a little fun, I used the Stoneware Bee napkin ring from Vagabond House and gorgeous Arte Italica dinner plates and Boho placemat from  Carolyn Bender. Doesn't the placemat look perfect with the Cordoba print?

The Cordoba print coordinates beautifully with the linen Madrid pillows in Caramel or indigo.

Who’s ready for some pillow talk? All the new pillows from Pacific & Rose are block-printed on 100% natural linen.

Pictured above are the Alhambra and Malaga pillows.

Next, we have the Madrid in Indigo with the Madrid in Caramel and the Toledo Pillow in Indigo.

Another lovely combination is Madrid in Stone Blue and Toledo in Olive. It’s the perfect look for a beach house or modern cottage.

Here’s a peek at ALL the pillows. Seaside Gallery & Goods  will be carrying the whole new line of tablecloths, napkins and pillows as well as their classic favorites.

You can shop online here, or if you’re local, stop in for a visit in Newport Beach.

Seaside Gallery and Goods is located at 124 Tustin Avenue in Newport Beach, just off of Pacific Coast Highway.

farmhouse style for fall 2023

Have you picked up the Autumn issue of Farmhouse Style yet? 🍁🍂

They’re celebrating their fifth year, and this issue is just filled to the brim with fall décor inspiration, fun DIY projects and yummy recipes.

As a regular contributor to Country Sampler Farmhouse Style, I have a few season projects and recipes to show you today…

Check out the table runner. It’s made entirely of vintage book pages. I took a damaged book, ripped out the pages and affixed them to contact paper to create this look.

Here’s another view of the table that did not appear in this issue. I love how the patina of the old book pages blends in so well with the rustic autumn leaves.

And check out these gorgeous Acorn Leaf Plates from Vagabond House. They’re heirloom quality china, and so pretty!

Also notice the little DIY Votive. It’s also featured in this issue. Pretty gauzy napkins are from Amazon, and most everything else is vintage.

Next up is my fun collection of vintage enamel coffee pots. I really love the ones with curvy spouts and the ones with the little glass percolator knobs on top.

I styled them here for fall with sunflowers, daisies and autumn leaves from the garden.

Here’s the same look but without the autumn leaves. Which look do you prefer? This one would work any time of year, wouldn't it?

This fall issue also featured one of the first projects I created for Farmhouse style, this apple wreath. I still remember how happy and amazed I was when it first appeared in print 5 years ago!

One of the cutest projects are these repurposed glass jars made into votives by simply using old book pages, a little baker’s twine and some mod podge. A little pumpkin cut-out adds fall charm to the whole look.

I also used these on the tablescape with the book page table runner that I mentioned above. It all goes together hand in hand with the autumn vibe.

A Halloween tablescape is up next. I kept it elegant and slightly spooky all with a farmhouse twist. The Farmhouse Stripe Table Linens is what really gives it that home feel, and I used vintage china for added warmth and character.

Bright pops of orange marigolds gives it that fun Halloween vibe and of course the black candles bring it all to life.

Back to the “Novel Décor” article, they also brought back one of my vintage projects that appeared in their Kitchen Issue. This one using old books as a knife block is quite cheeky, but it works brilliantly!

And  check out that preppy madras belt. I stole that from my hubby's closet, but he was happy to lend it to me.

Two of my recipes are featured in this fall issue, and first up we have this yummy dessert. I’ve been making this Sweet Potato Chiffon Pie at Thanksgiving for many years, and it’s definitely a family favorite.

The cute napkin featured above is from August Table.

The theme for the recipe article is “Favorite Southern Dishes”, and this one fits the bill perfectly. Another favorite Southern recipe is my take on She-Crab Soup.

Back in the day, way, way back in the day, they used crab roe for this recipe, but by today’s standards, that’s not sustainable, so here I substituted egg yolks to give it an extra luxurious kick.

The Blue Crab Cheese Board and Pewter Crab Place Card Holders are from Vagabond House.

🍁🍂 All-in-all this is a great issue,

and given that I love fall soooo much,

this one definitely has lots for seasonal inspo.🍁🍂

July 27, 2023

two new apple recipes I love

Realistic pewter apple branches adorn both the top of the honey pot and the spoon.

One of my favorite family traditions is making homemade apple jelly.

I’m really in love with the whole process al over again because I found the perfect Apple Honey Pot from Vagabond House to serve it in.

It even comes with the most adorable apple embossed spoon!

If you’ve never had apple jelly, it’s truly a culinary delight.

The flavor notes are subtle and almost floral, and my favorite way to eat it is on a warm croissant with a little coffee on the side.

How about kicking off this weekend with a refreshing and delicious twist on a classic cocktail: Apple Sangria!

This recipe is actually a “mocktail”, so it can be enjoyed by people of all ages.

🍏This gorgeous Apple pitcher from Vagabond House comes to life when it’s filled with these 4 simple ingredients: Apple Juice, Lemon Juice, Orange Juice, and Sparking White Grape Juice, and then add pretty sliced fruit.

Another simple and yummy recipe from Martha Stewart.
