aerin lauder for williams sonoma

I’m really loving the gorgeous new
Aerin Collection by Williams-Sonoma Home.

Have you seen it?

I just got the catalog this week
and am so tempted to order a few of
the beautiful blue outdoor pillows.

The only problem is,
the ones I love are a little pricey,
at about $80 dollars each!

I would totally splurge
on these
ikat ones on the left,
but I would need several
of these to make a bold statement.

So that order is on hold for the moment…

Aerin Lauder is the granddaughter of
Estee Lauder,
and she and her family have
an amazing estate in Palm Beach
where these photos were taken,
more on that later…

This entire line is truly beautiful!

Well, since my
Aerin ikat pillows are on hold for now,
I have to show you what I found at
Target this morning…

Not quite ikat,
but they are in the same
genre of color and geometric pattern,

Target had these on sale.
Here’s the price difference:

Target Brushed Diamond Blue by Threshold$13.50 &
Aerin for W-S Outdoor Printed Medallion Ikat, $79.

So I did end up getting a few at Target
this morning…

and they look fabulous!

april garden

My garden is my
little sanctuary.

A place where I can be creative
& reap in its rewards.

Here are a few vignettes from my garden today...

These two girls are the
rock stars of the garden, lol.

Who's the fairest one of all?

This bronze colored cameo girl came from Roger's Gardens and
the frame is from Ikea, and painted gold.

Here's my work space in the herb garden.

This potting table was built onto the shed
by my friend George two years ago
and I love it!

It's the perfect work space
for potting, feeding and organizing stuff.

I just gave it a fresh coat of white paint
and now we're all ready for summer.

This aqua colored stool is brand new
and available at Target,
but I got mine on Amazon
and it was delivered in two days!

I love how the borage reseeded itself from last year’s plants
and are now growing happily
between the brick stepping stones.

Borage,
a beautiful herb with blue flowers
that taste like cucumbers.

It's perfect for dressing up a salad!

The apple tree is in bloom too!

This little bunny shares his spot
with an urn full of
thyme and oregano.

This sweet flock of flamingos
keeps watch over my row of tomatoes...

Baby blueberries...

and the lavender fairy
sits on vintage bench
in the middle of the flower bed.

Judging from these pictures,
I guess I'm never quite alone in the garden...
I've got lots of company.

collecting : blue and white

Blue and white objects
are one of my weaknesses.

I really love the classic style
they bring to a space and
their sense of familiarity.

Blue and white pieces are
the chameleons of the design world.

They literally can fit in
with almost every kind of décor.

When I’m in an antique shop or thrift store,
I seem to have a sort of
extra sensory perception for anything blue and white
and zone in on that object!

I love how you can

In my home,
I have a few key pieces of
blue and white pottery that I love
and move around from time to time,
when the mood suits me.

They’re so fun to collect too!

I’m especially on the hunt for
state and holiday plates,
when
I’m out and about.

State plates or souvenir plates
can tell such a fun story.

And, there are a lot of pretty ones out there!

Our everyday dishes are blue and white,
but over the years,
I've collected quite a few different sets.
They're so easy to coordinate
with each other.

We also have a pretty set of
blue and white melamine plates for outdoor dining.

I love how they look with other colors too,
especially aqua.

There’s something about that
vibrant cobalt and white
combo that really draws me in…

Do you any have favorite
pieces in your home?

Fill me in…
I’d love to know!

pretty easter eggs

This year I’m trying a new approach
to decorating Easter eggs.

Natural dyes can be found in your pantry and fridge.
Look at these beautiful colors!
So unique!

White markers work beautifully on colored eggs.

Just start with a pattern and go with it!

I like to mix faux eggs
with real, dyed eggs for my vignettes
on the dinner table
and around the house.
Wooden eggs in a pale
robins’ egg blue
are my fave.

Faux pink eggs would work great
for a floral display like this!

How about a sweet little tattoo
or decoupage for your eggs?

Those pretty metallic tattoos are a fun choice!

Blooming spring branches
are the perfect place
to display your Easter creations.

housewives' parties, vanderpump style

Wow, what a finale last night on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills! You can always count on a few shouting matches at the most glamorous of parties.

I really get soooo excited checking out all the details of the party décor, and Lisa Vanderpump with the help of party planner Kevin Lee always makes it fun to watch!

The party décor really got my attention, which helped to balance out all the drama. The arguing took a back seat, for me, as I soaked in all the details of twinkle lights, candles, the pink and rosé furnishings, all the mirrors and fabulous appetizers that were circulating about.

I really loved the comfy rosé colored sofas and chairs arranged under the flowy cabanas in Lisa's amazing backyard.

Candelabras, votives and oodles and oodles of pink roses were sprinkled throughout the party, and the dress code was of course, diamonds and rosé.

There were a few “out there” hairstyles, but overall everyone look beautiful, and they had the option of being crowned with a lovely rose garland for their hair upon arriving.

Here’s another lovely table of Lisa’s that got me inspired. I think this look with the pink rose tablecloth would be gorgeous for mother’s day.

Lisa’s signature color is of course pink, and she totally goes overboard with the pink roses and other flowers, but it really works, don’t you think?

Well, party season is now officially over for the Beverly Hills housewives. I did miss seeing Kyle’s white party this year.

They didn’t film it for the show, I guess, but these BH gals always throw great parties!! You can’t compare their parties to any of the other housewives franchises.

Now we’re gearing up for the Real Housewives of New York City. Will you be watching?

I think Dorinda is the only one who really enjoys throwing dinner parties at her own home in the Berkshires, and always tries to “make it nice”, otherwise most of the NY housewives' parties are held in restaurants.

Bethenny can throw a great party too, but they’re always filled with so much placement of her own personal products, in an obnoxious sort of way, that it sometimes takes away from the fun ambiance of a party, for me.

One big party this year in NYC will be Luann’s wedding, but only one of the other NYC housewives will be there.

Hmmmm.
