new orleans, charleston and parisian style for the home

There is a common thread between New Orleans, Charleston and Parisian style decor . Each city brings a sense of history and drama. Interiors that use pieces that are passed down through generations, pieces that are acquired from flea markets, or misfits that are somehow integrated into the scheme of things. And with all these pieces there are stories to tell. Some of my favorite rooms have visibly worn pieces that bring character to a room and are paired with more modern furnishings and accessories.

an apartment in Paris with the right mix of old and new

comfortable and inviting

the worn paint on this cabinet adds character to the whole room

they just don't make 'em like they used to

a great mix of style and visual impact

bright and fresh

the warm patina on the dresser compliments the white surroundings

one of my favorite looks

chinoiserie always looks great in a room

a stylish mix from Spain

a favorite spot in this home

great accessories

old and not so old look great together

this gold accented chair adds drama as does the leopard ottoman

a perfect shade of velvet for this antique setee
