my favorite tablescapes for summer

My top secret news is out! One of my favorite magazines and I are collaborating! I put together a vintage and upscale patriotic tablescape Romantic Homes, and in case you haven’t seen it, you can check out all the details here on their website.

My inspiration and starting point for setting this table were some of my favorite pieces of blue and red transferware plates.

And just for fun, here are some of my other patriotic tables from this year and last…

a peek inside Luann's Hampton's home

The Countess Luann could be moving to the Catskills and her Sag Harbor home is currently on the market. You may recognize this quaint 1825 home from the Real Housewives of New York

Luann’s hosted quite a few gatherings with the ladies in this weekend getaway of hers, but we’ve only seen the kitchen, for the most part. Here’s a look at the rest of her pretty coastal home.

the "love american style" tablescape

an easy to set and fun patriotic table

Finding this fun picnic-inspired throw was my inspiration for my latest red, white and blue tablescape. It reminds me of an old-fashioned beach blanket, and casually laid on the table, it creates an instant coastal mood.

💓💙

Paired with another striped element, these “love” napkins are the perfect finishing touch for the table. I call this look “Love American Style!”

Vibrant tulips set in individual glass bottles are the shining stars to this patriotic striped look. More details coming soon...

P.S. I’m having my beloved morning cappuccino while writing this… and wishing you a glorious day ahead!

such a great week...

sharing my favorite ideas for summer entertaining

Decorating for parties and gatherings is always a fun activity, and as the start of summer approaches, the opportunities for throwing a fun soiree also increase.

Why not take the opportunity to ramp up the red, white and blue décor for Father’s Day? It gives you a head start for the 4th of July and patriotic décor always makes friends and family feel welcomed.

This week, I’ve been engaged in creating several fun tablescapes that are perfect for summer and are quite easy to replicate.

Finishing touches are mostly done for my garden shed, so I thought I’d take a few romantic shots of it styled with one of my favorite new acquisitions

this pretty vintage chair that I found at the Vintage Flea Market in Old Town Tustin. It’s the perfect shade of soft turquoise and looks so pretty in the garden.

The Tustin Flea Market is held every fourth Sunday of the month, and it’s small enough to walk through in an hour, so after that you’ll still have plenty of time to catch a yummy Sunday brunch nearby and think about all the fun nostalgic things you saw (and maybe purchased) at the flea market.

To round out the week, I have some exciting news, but it’s top secret for the moment. I’ll share details about it soon, but for now here’s a little peek…

Happy Father’s Day!

blue and white with a hint of red

I’m definitely feeling the red, white and blue vibe today and playing around with some cute new bowls and a few flowers from the garden. Do you have ever have ideas for themes pop in your head? I definitely had a vision and luckily I found all the missing pieces I was looking for!

A trip to Home Goods can quite literally get the party started! I found the white bowls, blue and white flower pot and a set of five vintage-inspired vases for the center of the table there this week and so this whole patriotic look came together pretty easily.

happy flag day!
