Cozy mornings just got even better!

Strike a match and let the glowing candlelight bring out the earthiness of the season.

I’m in love with the soft glow of this rustic Antler Candlestick from Arthur Court creates in my living room.

I also love this beautiful glass Elk Canister that you can just spy in the background. It’s perfect for holding special little treats and generally just looking pretty!

setting an Italian style table

I’m so excited to share with you my recently acquired set of lovely Blue Talavera plates and bowls. This divine blue and white pattern also has hints of red and yellow, and has such an Italian vibe going on.  

I’m partnering with Bico Ceramics to set an inspired table for them, and of course, an Italian-theme luncheon seems perfect for these gorgeous plates.  

In fact, this is the type of dishware seen all over Italy. So today I’m putting my spin on a fun tablescape similar to something you may see on the Amalfi Coast, and of course, lots of lemons are brought in for authenticity. 

I’ll take you step-by-step on how I put this table together.  

I gathered some olive branches from my garden to use as a backdrop for the sunshiny yellow lemons. You could use similar branches from your yard or a bundle of eucalyptus from the grocery store. 

For a foundation layer, I first laid down a summery seersucker striped table runner. Stripes always add a great dynamic to any table. Your eye seems to follow the lines on the stripe and that adds a certain amount of visual vibrancy to a table. 

At this table, I only used about 7-8 small branches and laid them out, starting in the middle. As you add each layer of branches, cover up the stem with the leafy part of the branch. 

Now we’re ready for our lemons. Arrange them in groups of two or three with a few cut lemons in the mix for interest.  

For this garland-like centerpiece, I also added yellow Gerber Daisies with their stems cut off for an added summer vibe. Surprisingly, they lasted without water for several days.  

A few little glass votives are sprinkled in amongst the branches, because every table needs a little candlelight! 

You can see in some of these photos I switched out the blue goblets for clear ones. I like both, but the clear ones make for a more relaxed look. 

Now for the fun part... setting those pretty dishes in place. Each individual place setting started with round Serena & Lily raffia placemats. Then we have the monogrammed napkins I made, and on top of that, our lovely Blue Talavera dinner plate. 

I really love the mix of pattern between the Blue Talavera dinner plates and the salad plates. They both have different patterns, but complement each other perfectly!  

And for the cherry on top, we have these beautiful coordinating bowls, with yet another unique pattern. The size of these bowls is remarkable, and I love that their lavish size can accommodate a robust salad, a hearty serving of soup or a bowl of chili with all the fixin’s. 

They’re also perfect for cereal and ice cream. I know my family loves the generous size of these bowls, and I just love how pretty they are!
