red transferware for Christmas

Hey, guys! It got dark soooo early yesterday, didn’t it? Winter is officially here, and I'm looking  forward to each day getting sunnier from now on as the days gradually get longer... yay!

I was able to squeeze in a little photo sesh while we had a bit of sunlight left yesterday afternoon, and was able to pull together three different looks using cheery red and white transferware plates.

It’s interesting that the name card above says Lauren, because this look was inspired by the deep traditional colors that you’ve seen from Ralph Lauren for years.

I started with this vintage tartan throw and matched the red in the plaid with the red in the plates. Colors in transferware vary tremendously, and the reds can range from orangey to cranberry, so I think getting a close match is important.

Velvety red roses are a luxurious accent on this table, and it’s easy to spice up your bouquet with a little bit of pine, cedar or cypress. I really like the pops of white in the pitcher, the charger plates and the candles. It sets off the patterns nicely.

Brass candlesticks finish of this traditional Christmas look, and add a touch of glitz and glamour.

This next look was inspired by a yard of vintage Pierre Deux fabric I found while thrifting last week. This toile is so vivid, and I thought the color combo of red, white and blue would be just fantastic for a patriotic table.

As I was unpacking my things after shopping, I set this fabric on the table and was so impressed with how it perfectly matched this pretty Christmas plate with the ice skaters.

I took this “mood” shot for inspiration, but this table will have to wait for another time, as my final table was waiting to be set in all red and white.

The coziness of this red and white plaid throw just spoke to me, so I decided this look would be my final table for Christmas day.  Isn't the Joyeux Noel ribbon cute? I found it at Home Goods along with these pretty plates.

Please check back tomorrow as we reveal the whole table and all the details that went into setting this cheery holiday tablescape. I'll also share with you my fun estate sale find that played a major part in bringing this table to life!

ciao! fabiana
