fall fashion faves

I’m so happy it’s Saturday! This week was a little quirky, due to Halloween in the middle of the week and then there was no school on Wednesday. It’s almost like Thursday was Monday all over again!

With the holidays quickly approaching, I’ve been inspired by a few recent fashion finds that will work beautifully for me through the end of the year.

First off are these darling “Arabesque” earrings from Stella & Dot. Not only are they a classic style, but they’re a great size, not too big. I chose mine in rose gold, but they also come in silver and gold. These can be easily dressed up or dressed down. I’ve been wearing mine all week, and have  already gotten several compliments J.

Red is the most festive color and really can make you stand out from the crowd, and now is the best time to add a bit of red to my wardrobe. I don’t think I have enough red in my repertoire, so with my new Pippa Cold Shoulder Top, also by Stella & Dot, I’m ready for any of those December holiday gatherings that are already penciled in to my calendar.

Who doesn’t love a classic Levi jean? These are especially cute with the addition of embroidered red roses, and the best part about these, they’re high-waisted, woohoo! Available at Anthropologie.

Although I live in Southern California, and don’t often need winter coats, I love this casual look by Gal Meets Glam. It’s simple, traditional and youthful, and that’s what makes it work!

With the addition of a fabulous wool coat like this, I'd be all set to book a weekend up north!

Warning… splurge moment! Yes, I just hit the “add to cart” button on these same Gucci Marmont Pumps in Blush Suede. Doran of Haute Beauty Guide (above) has styled the Marmont perfectly with cuffed jeans and pink accessories. It's my first time saying YES to Gucci! Can't wait...

This little group of fashion choices is all quite casual, but each one can be easily redirected for a more formal look. What are your favorite fashion items for the holidays? I’d love to hear all about it!  xoxox

spring favorites from Stella & Dot

Stella and Dot's new Spring items are soooo fun, and thank you to my favorite stylist Cynthia for pointing me in the right direction!  These gorgeous accessories are my Spring Essentials.  I adore the entire Alila Collection, but especially this cuff bracelet. Designed around Dot's extensive lace collection these pieces add a feminine twist to the bohemian trend.
The Getaway Bag finally is now available in black! It's the ultimate travel bag and fits perfectly under the airplane seat, but also expands to fit extra purchases. I love it as a striped bag, but when it expands, you get a fun little pop of pattern.
The Marlin Earrings are available in both gold and silver and are the delicate earrings you never knew you needed but can't live without. Chic and modern!
The Arc Pendant is an affordable way to approach current trends without breaking the bank. It is the perfect start to a trendy layered look.
The Gilded Path Double Wrap screams So Cal style.
I have barely taken this off since I got mine!
These two turquoise pieces are the perfect way to add a little bit of my favorite color into the mix. The Turquoise Stone Cuff and the Turquoise Stacked Ring mix and match perfectly with so many of the accessories I already have! They are my go-to baubles when I need a little boost to my look!

color inspiration : emerald green

“Emerald green: This is an inspiring and uplifting color suggesting abundance and wealth in all its forms, from material well-being, to emotional well-being to creative ideas.  It is the color of balance and harmony.

In color psychology, green is the great balancer of the heart and the emotions, creating equilibrium between the head and the heart.  From a meaning of colors perspective, green is also the color of growth, the color of spring, of renewal and rebirth. It renews and restores depleted energy. It is the sanctuary away from the stresses of modern living, restoring us back to a sense of well-being.

This is why there is so much of this relaxing color on the earth, and why we need to keep it that way.  Green promotes a love of nature, and a love of family, friends, pets and the home. It is the color of the garden lover, the home lover and the good host.”  via empower yourself with color psychology.

weekend getaway essentials

Packing for a weekend getaway is not that difficult, if you remember to include some of your favorite goodies.

For me, it’s my favorite Guess jeans, a few comfortable and cute tops and my favorite Tieks, which are foldable adorable flats that come in the most gorgeous colors and patterns.

My current favorite is my pair of leopard Tieks. Leopard seems to go with just about everything!

A must-pack item is a travel size of Downy Wrinkle Releaser. Once you've tried this product, you'll see what I mean about it being a necessity for any trip. I just leave one in my bag!  Just spray and forget about it! No ironing required!

I also coordinate any jewelry I'm bringing. Either all gold, or all silver makes it easier to throw on. And, I always bring a scarf or two in case it gets chilly.

Look at how easy it is to pack jewelry and other small items in this Stella &Dot “Hang On” travel case.  Everything is now visible and ready to hang at my destination!

And speaking of Stella & Dot, I can’t forget my favorite “Getaway” bag.  Look at how it expands for all the extra shopping I will most likely do.  It’s so pretty and practical!

With Tieks, there are so many possibilities!

I always bring a good book or two.

Two of my beauty essentials are a good lip balm and my treasured rose water spray!  I have a bottle of rose water and lip balm on my night stand, in my bathroom, in my car and on my desk.  I am always ready for a spritz and a dab!

The rose water is perfect for spraying on before applying lotion on your face and body.  I love Burt's Bee's tinted lip balm for any trip.

Of course, room service is always fun!
