sweet music for the backyard

This past year, I’ve spent a whole lot of time in the garden and enjoying the perks of being outdoors, in general.

My goal of growing lots of pretty flowers for cutting has really kept me busy, and I want to let you in on one of my favorite little secrets…

It’s this amazing set of iLIVE indoor-outdoor bluetooth speakers that I just sync with my smart phone playlist from Spotify.

Now I get 360° full-bodied sound while I’m in the garden enjoying the fresh air and the company of the adorable birds and butterflies we’ve had this year.

These iLIVE Bluetooth speakers have been a game changer for me. They include removable stakes, so you can strategically place your music outdoors for everyday enjoyment or your next backyard party.

In fact, they’d also be perfect for a picnic, a beach day or camping.

They’re durable and waterproof so you can keep the party going, wherever you take it.

So perfect for a pool party!

This pair of speakers even has an option to play music individually or together in Party Plus Mode. I also use them indoors at my desk or in the kitchen while I'm cooking.

I love how when out in sun they are solar power charged and can just keep playing all day long. These amazing outdoor speakers definitely make my outdoor time much more enjoyable.

And by the way, I have a fun 80's playlist that really gets me moving in the garden!

You can check out these exact iLIVE Speakers HERE, but they're also available at Macy's and Walmart. And wouldn't these also make a great Christmas gift?

a Christmas table inspired by music

Christmas sheet music is the inspiration this year for my Christmas table. I just cut out large paper circles and nestled them between a gold charger plate and a glass dish.  Just use a salad plate as a template to trace a circle.  Cut out your circles and just place under a clear glass plate, like this...

the laguna beach sawdust art festival

Last Saturday night was my first visit ever to the Sawdust Festival. Nestled between the mountains of Laguna Canyon, and only a couple of minutes from downtown Laguna Beach, the Sawdust Festival has been a tradition here in southern California since 1968. The festival features 200 local artists, live entertainment, classes, art demonstrations, and outdoor cafes.

Entering the festival...

Marcus Thesing has one of the most amazing booths showcasing his hand blown art glass.  Some of his pieces remind me of  genie bottles.

Gavin Heath also has an incredible booth.

We enjoyed listening to two fun bands.

The Sawdust festival runs all summer long, until September 1st, and they are open from 10-10 everyday.  Come out for a visit!

a dream... Andrea Bocelli live

The first half of the show were all songs by Verdi and Puccini

My husband surprised me
with an anniversary gift of tickets to see
Andrea Bocelli last night.
My head feels like a swirling dream…
Italian paradise!

Caroline Campbell, the violinist, was amazing!

David Foster on the piano, Caroline Campbell and Andrea Bocelli.

The conductor and Andrea were a match made in heaven.

Fantasia was also a guest and sang 3 songs with Andrea,
including my favorite, "Canto della Terra"

Soprano, Maria Aleida and Bocelli were superb together,
especially the highlight for many, a short version of "the Prayer".

Bravo!!
