Today we have a few simple tricks for subtle styling details that add big impact to a home. Interior designer for the
Southern Living Idea house Heather Chadduck Hillegas suggests these signature
style accents to add just the right amount of traditional flair to your rooms.
Tassels are any easy way to finish off
the look of a china cabinet. Or add it to an antique skeleton key for a
whimsical touch at a door.
Fabulous ticking stripe drapes and the
addition of a bamboo rod, always a great look!
Cuttings from the garden like palm
frond or ferns set in a plain glass jug are an easy way to add a vibrant accent
to your home.
It’s always fun to add one quirky
piece to your home. In the case of this vintage chair, it’s quite useful for setting
down your purse or packages near the back door.
Every home should have what Heather
calls a “celebration station”. Furnish yours with vintage glasses, trays and a
cute basket for holding lemons.
Finally, Heather suggests having at
least one antique piece in each room. These pieces tell a story and add much
needed character to a room.
Check back later this week for an
in-depth home tour of the 2019 Southern Living Idea House that celebrates "Timeless Style".
