my favorite country collectables & more!

Antique and vintage collectables have always had a dear place in my heart, especially kitchen collectables.

As a part of a series that showcases some of my exclusive projects that I created especially for Country Sampler Farmhouse Style magazine, I’m starting off with this fun collection of green wooden handled kitchen utensils.

Once you start off with a piece or two, the collecting process can be quite fun! It’s always a hoot finding one of these pieces, and they can turn up in some of the most unexpected places.

Garage sales are my favorite place to find these goodies, and in addition to the green handled kitchen tools, I’m also partial to the blue ones. The red ones seem to be the most popular, though.

Along with kitchen tools, I’m also drawn to old canning jars. Not only are they pretty, but they are also quite useful! Here I used one of my favorite Mason jars to store my homemade pancake mix.

Pretty little teacups are also another fun collectable. I love this light blue one!

You can’t go wrong with any kind of vintage pitcher. There’s something homey about their form. That lovely handle place directly across from a cute little spout. I don’t know how to explain it, but it’s just feels cozy!

They’re quite useful in so many ways and even so pretty on their own or as a part of a larger collection. Blue and white or just plain blue ones are among the ones I like best.

Above, you can see some of my most treasured ones on my family room mantel. Some have flowers, while others don't. All the flowers shown here are cut directly from my garden. I just love the hydrangeas... they keep going and going all summer long!

English, French and American stoneware crocks are also fun to collect. I like the ones with the blue, black or brown lettering the most. Do you have any of these?

They also make great vases because they’re so heavy and flowers that are top-heavy are well supported. They also make great utensil holders, pencil or brush holders or a just-about-anything holder!

Old kitchen graters can be used in so many fun ways. Here I’ve used them to hold a couple of posies of cottage garden flowers from my yard.

Here’s one last little recipe that makes the best of day-old bread and your favorite Italian seasoning mix. This homemade breadcrumb mixture will then keep in the pantry or fridge for a long time.

It's so easy to make and come in quite handy when making our favorite chicken Milanese.

the most beautiful fall home accessories

One of my favorite things about Arthur Court Designs is that the inspiration for their pieces comes straight from nature,

and they’re designed to land directly on your table!

No other season lends itself more to the beauty of nature than Autumn,

 wouldn’t you agree?

Here’s a little look at today’s Autumn table from the breakfast room…

new fall finds inspired by nature

Cozy mornings just got even better!

Strike a match and let the glowing candlelight bring out the earthiness of the season.

I’m in love with the soft glow of this rustic Antler Candlestick from Arthur Court creates in my living room.

“Graceful prongs curve away from the main branches of the antlers, with each joining supporting a small candle holder, ideally sized for taper candles.”

"Handcrafted in Arthur Court's signature aluminum, this design features antlers emerging up from a circular base as they balance on their burr.

Multiple forks branch off the main stem, while the candle holders take the place of other points with realistic definition."

With a touch of whimsy and a deep passion for nature, Arthur Court’s creations are timeless additions to any home.

This is one treasured piece that will look great all autumn and winter in my living room! It would even be a spectacular focal point for a holiday table (that will be coming up in a future blog post) or even a pretty alfresco table.

I also love this beautiful glass Elk Canister that you can just spy in the background. It’s perfect for holding special little treats and generally just looking pretty!

So for this month, we’re enjoying the soft glowing candlelight in the living room, surrounded by some of our favorite things.

best fall farmhouse decor ideas

This new farmhouse style wire mesh wall curio cabinet is absolutely stunning! I’m sharing it with you here today styled two ways. One is a traditional cottage farmhouse look that can be used all year, and the other look is full-on Christmas!

Don’t you just love the arched crown molding, wire mesh screen doors that can be left partially opened or fully closed? The distressed finish makes this piece feel like it’s been around for some time.

In addition to this curio cabinet being free-standing, it can also be displayed on a wall.

When styling this piece, I like to group collectables together and also it’s important to keep in mind varying heights of objects.

The vintage-inspired look will add a classic farm-fresh style to any Home! Think about this cute piece in your kitchen, den, laundry room, entryway, bedroom or bathroom.

Line this beauty with dishes, mugs, flowers, collectable antiques, and more!

Wouldn’t this also look pretty as a cabinet in your bathroom, stylishly displaying towels and other powder room essentials for you or your guests?

Here’s another fun fall find I highly recommend, this Pumpkin Farm metal sign! I have it outside on my front porch, but in the past, I’ve also used it in my breakfast room with mounds and mounds of pretty pumpkins!

For more fun inspirational fall décor ideas, I’m always posting on Instagram, so I’d love it if you stopped by for a visit. And of course, you can follow me for interesting styling ideas all year long!

Here’s one last little look at this gem of a curio cabinet, and it’s all done up for the winter holidays.

I added just a few of my favorite ironstone pitchers, several adorable vintage-inspired Santas, and then a little hint of evergreen branches to remind us of the true beauty of the winter months. What do you think of our little cottage farmhouse curio cabinet now?!

But for now, I think we will give all our focus to the fabulous months of September, October and November. These three months bring me so much joy with the glorious season of Autumn and everything it has to offer!

gorgeous new table setting accessories

Fresh and lovely, these new pieces from Carolyn Bender Lifestyle have my heart skipping a beat. Check out these gorgeous Cabochon Agate napkin rings paired with luxurious dip-dyed linen napkins.

Pretty white plates, blue-grey water goblets and fun and funky Boho Placemats are all also from Carolyn Bender.

So many great pieces for holiday table setting!

Setting my dining room table with fall inspiration started with a beautiful tablecloth from August Table, and then I added beautiful placemats, plates, blue glass goblets, napkins and candlesticks from Carolyn Bender Lifestyle.

To soften the center of the table, I added roses, cosmos, dusty miller and olive branches from my garden. A little bunch of dried grass helps soften the look.

Designated seating is oh-so important, especially at Thanksgiving, so why not make it beautiful?

These stunning turkey place card holders are from Arthur Court.

All that was needed was to add a few autumn details, like pumpkins and these adorable blue and white pumpkin appetizer plates.

I'll be using these goodies all season long and well into the Christmas holiday season too!! I love how versatile each piece is.

Just sharing an up-close and personal look at my new Finezza Dinner Plates, Bella Bianca Lace Salad Plates, Tuscan Flax Linen Napkins, Boho Placemats and these adorable Woven Orange Flower Napkin Rings, all from Carolyn Bender Lifestyle.

I just couldn’t help myself with the fall décor today.

Orange taper candles are the perfect finishing touch!

I was so inspired by this Gayatri Peacock print tablecloth and napkins from Pacific & Rose that I knew I had to pair it with my gorgeous new Woven Orange Napkin Rings and Boho Placemats from Carolyn Bender Lifestyle.
