fresh flowers for fall decor

Autumn has got to be my favorite season, with its gorgeous and rich palette of yellows, burnt oranges, deep auburns. We shouldn’t forget to enrich our home environment with the beauty of fresh flowers and foliage during fall, when it may be too chilly to enjoy nature’s bounty outdoors.

As we start the Thanksgiving and holiday seasons, our homes may become a gathering spot for friends and family, so we should remember to add a bit of natural beauty to our rooms. Creating our own arrangements is an option, but for a truly unique and professional look, consider flower delivery by BloomNation.

I recently discovered BloomNation as a great resource for sending flowers to welcome a new baby and for a friend’s birthday, but during Christmas, I plan on selecting a gorgeous arrangement for my home. They offer one-of-a-kind designs for decorating our own homes for that special event or holiday get-together.

I’ve gathered together some of my favorite fall floral looks for you to enjoy…

beautiful acacia wood bowls

This beautiful wood bowl made from sustainable acacia trees is my new current obsession.

These Acacia Creations bowls have a gorgeous symmetrical shape and are hand-carved at a small family-run workshop outside of Manila in the Philippines.

It's carved and then finished with natural oils so it is perfect for holding fruits and even serving a delicious salad.  I even got a few extras for holiday gift giving!

pretty bedroom pillows

A fun mix of bedroom pillows is always a great way to start and end your day!  Would any of these make you happy?  I think my faves are 1 and 4. I can't resist a little animal print or a little gold to liven things up!

 Do you have a favorite?

hedge fun

Now that the weather has cooled off here in southern California, I can spend more time out in my garden.  I have always been a fan of neatly manicured semi-formal gardens. There’s nothing quite like the color green that is drawn from nature. The green hedges, plants and trees are so soothing and the variations in their tone really create a peaceful sanctuary

Here is a little snippet {no pun intended} of some of my favorite gardens that inspire me to get out in my own garden and create a little secret oasis. When the day gets tough, it’s always great to get out and be at peace with nature.

To help me create fanciful orbs and spires, I love to use my new battery powered GreenWorks hedge trimmers. It's so fun and easy to use.  This tool puts me in control of my design, with no wires! Another gardener couldn't capture my true vision for my little sanctuary in green, so I like to get out there and do it myself!

Edward Scissorhands, watch out!
